It is crazy to think that Sawyer's first birthday and the Congenital Heart Walk are this weekend! I have not received the email from the organizers of the walk, BUT I do have a few details I need to share. I sent a message asking if it would be okay for all of our walkers to just register the day of the walk. They responded and said it would be much more beneficial if most, or all, of our walkers registered online BEFORE the walk so they can have a more accurate count of everyone coming.
Here are the instructions for registering online, it only takes about 5 minutes. If you are unable to register before, you will still be able to register the day of the walk! Registration is FREE.

Click "I agree" for the Walker Waiver.
Select "Join A Team". A list will populate at the bottom, we are "Team Sawyer" - you will have to scroll down, but they are in alphabetical order.
You will need to create a username and password or you can log in with a various amount of social media sites (Google, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter).
You then have to fill out the registration form. Select that you are walking for "someone with a CHD" and you can opt out of the "Send me more information" section. After filling out your personal information there is a "Fees" section.
This is what I didn't originally like about the online registration. This section says:
"Fundraising Only: No Fee
There is no minimum or maximum to participate, but our goal is to have each participant raise at least $125.
Participants raising more than $100 will receive an event t-shirt!"
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO RAISE ANY MONEY. Our team goal is 1,000 but you enter your t-shirt size (this is for those who raise over $100 individually) and then you have an option to make a donation in memory of Sawyer towards our team goal. This is completely up to you, please enter $0 if you wish to skip this part. You can then enter $0 as your "Fundraising Goal" as well.
After you finish registration the website creates you a "Fundraising Page" - this is meaningless, but apparently a part of the online registration. Just know - you do not have to raise any money individually.

Details for the Walk:
The walk is FREE, but you will have to pay for parking upon entering Stone Mountain Park. If you can, I recommend carpooling.
The event is located at the TRIANGLE PARKING LOT.
We will be arriving at 8 AM. If you will be joining us please try to arrive no later than 8:30. This way we can all get our shirts, take care of last minute registration, and get together to head to the starting line. They also have pre-walk activities that we can choose to participate in!
The walk begins at 9:15 (originally 9:30, but due to a wonderful response, they have moved the time up. We can still start walking as late as 9:30).
The entire walk course is 5 kilometers (3.1 miles). However, the path is out and back (not a loop) and walkers can decide on shorter distances (e.g. 1 or 2 miles). There are slight hills along the walk as well.
This is from the Facebook page of the walk: "At sign-in, all walk participants will be asked to sign two release forms: one for the Congenital Heart Walk organization and one for Stone Mountain Park. Also, we'll have a photographer on hand and will need permission to use photos"
All funds raised go to benefit both the Adult Congenital Heart Association and the Childrens Heart Foundation. Here are the websites for both: http://www.childrensheartfoundation.org/ and http://www.achaheart.org/.
The event officially ends at 11 AM, but immediately following the walk they will be doing drawings for door prizes!
Another note, we are still working towards our $1,000 goal in memory of Sawyer for his first birthday. No amount donated is too small and we greatly appreciate it! All donations go to the two organizations mentioned above. Right now we are only $300 away from our goal! As soon as I transfer the money over from the t-shirt profits :) We ask you to consider donating the amount you may have spent on a birthday present for Sawyer. You can make a donation HERE.
